Being new to Boulder, I went to Legacy Automotive based on a recommendation from an acquaintance. I was stunned by: A $175 charge for First Hour of Diagnostic Testing on a power steering issue that I had specifically described when I brought the car in. The inspection report recommended several repairs that seemed questionable. For example, it stated that the left and right brake lamps were inoperative and should be replaced. However, on my Nissan, those lights only illuminate when the headlights are on; the center brake light functions normally at all times. The quote also included more than $200 for a DOT 4 brake fluid flush and more than $300 for a power steering flush. Comparable services are available elsewhere for significantly less. I brought my vehicle here for a second opinion on the steering issue just following a recommendation. Their estimate was approximately $500 higher than the quote I had already received from another shop, even before accounting for the additional items mentioned above. LOOK ELSEWHERE SERIOUSLY.
